Tuesday, October 5th:

Today, even Matt decided to chill out. We had to do our laundry before our road trip, but I looked all around and couldn't find the dryer. Carmel laughingly showed me the clothesline out back. I'm starting to realize how spoiled we are back home.
Matt insisted I have a "Tim Tam" with my tea, and proceded to demonstrate the technique. It consists of two rectangular cookies held together with cream and covered with chocolate. So you bite both ends off and suck the hot tea through the cookie like a straw. This quickly melts the creame, dissolves the cookie, and all that holds it together is a thin covering of now-soft chocolate. You have to move quickly to get it into your mouth before it falls to pieces in your hand. Even successful you'll end up with chocolate on your face and hands.
I took some other pictures showing the flat they set up for us upstairs. Pretty soon, I've got to pack my things and get ready to go. We're staying at Joel's tonight so that we can leave from there in the morning.

That evening, the Hazaels had the book study at their home, but beforehand had a new couple over for dinner. James showed off some of his bike skills. Peter Hazael's joke of the day: "What did the mayonnaise say to the refrigerator? - Close the door! I'm dressing." Peter's got a thousand of them, and he's not at all embarassed to share them. There were others but they weren't funny enough to remmeber.
