Thursday, July 28th:
All we really did today was eat and drive. Oh yeah, and we saw lots of corn. We both agreed that Ohio looks pretty much like you'd imagine it, though we disagreed about whether "Cleveland Rocks." Because there was so much traffic today approaching Chicago, alot of the people who normally just point and laugh at our car (with its rear wheels nearly bottoming out on the fender, a boomerang in the side window, and "Australia or Bust" still boldly printed in friendly blue letters on the rear window) would instead actually yell humorous comments to us out of their window. For example: "Can that Rabbit swim??" and "What are you going to do when you get to LA? You're going to run out of road!" and the like. It was quite fun, particularly when a carload of chicas called out to us, and asked confusedly, "Are you actually driving there?" I tried to take a photo for evidence, but the darned thing takes too long to turn on.
Chicago traffic was once again a nightmare. It has taken us all day to get past the city, crawling over the Skyway at a skin-blistering 10mph. I say 10mph because our speedometer doesn't have a zero. It just sort of starts at 10.
At least we're eating well tonight! All the hotels are booked within an hour or so of Oshkosh, where we'll meet up with our parents for the next three days. So we're still slightly south of the Wisconsin border, in some hole-in-the-map town's only motel. Come on, you haven't lived till you had Spamwiches for dinner. Besides, were starting to get sick of PB&J.
