OK... The story so far: two years ago, my brother decides he wants to visit Australia. So hey, why not go for three months while your'e at it, eh? Needless to say, he met the girl of his dreams while he was there, and all of our lives have been changed forever. A year later, I flew over with him to see what kind of world of trouble he's getting himself into. (You can read all about it here) A few weeks later he's engaged - did it during a zero-G dive while piloting a small plane. He now has plans to move there for good.

With the wedding date closing in fast, we realized that there's too many things we just never got to do together as brothers. It turns out that this was my idea: In a moment of either fear or stupidity, never thinking he'd take me seriously, I suggested he saves the airfare to LA and we just drive there instead. And hey, why not take the rabbit? (the old, beat up, leaking, sqeaking, pile of volkswagon rusting on the driveway) Mostly, because no one thinks it could ever make it. In fact, they're taking bets as to where we'll break down first! Well, Matt couldn't resist the idea, and we immediately got to work making it roadworthy.

Three months have passed since. He's pulled out the mashed front bumper, re-aligned the headlights, replaced the axles, fixed the brakes, changed the transmission twice, and repaired most of the leaks. By some stroke of happenstance, the wheel fell off two days before we were scheduled to leave. Now, I know what you're thinking - probably the lug nuts weren't tightened? NO. The WHOLE wheel: brake-drum, lug-nuts and all literally just fell off the car, and rolled down the hill! We found it just in time for the trip, patched it up, and here we are... ready to go where every movie cliche has been before, at the start of a long journey - an adventure, if you will... And no one knows where it will take us.
